Well, well, well, would you look what time it is. It’s time for Results! Before we get to them, you should know that I seriously debated calling this quiz, “The Jan Jans”. I’m a bit disappointed I didn’t.
Another thing I want to mention before we continue:
I am thrilled that Aaron from The Confusing Middle is continuing a series I started last year called, The Blogger Games. They are five weeks of multiple choice questions about Aaron. All you have to do is answer them. Things get competitive. There are medals to be won. It’s a fun time. Check it out.
PLUS, you get to compete against me! Finally! So, have fun, play hard, and I’ll await your congratulatory messages when I finish in first place.
Now to the The Captain’s Quiz 7!

Scoring
You will receive a standard score of 1, 3, or 5 points for each question. There are also hidden bonus points available, which will be revealed under each question.
NEW: As you may have noticed, I decided to share my thoughts on your answers on your individual posts. The word count on my Results posts was getting out of hand and my feedback always felt impersonal.
Renata and Bill, you can expect your commentary from me very soon!
So, in this post, my comments under your score is basically just the answer you gave so the others know.
Example of a score:

THE WINNER AND NEWWW CAPTAIN’S QUIZ CHAMPION….RENATA!!!
Congratulations to Aaron and T for rounding out the podium.
Also, shoutout to DreamGirl for a job well done in her Captain’s Quiz debut!
Thank you to everyone who participated! It always warms my heart to see you excited that a new quiz is out.
The crown now belongs to Renata, a first-time winner. What will she do now that she’s in power? How will the others respond? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
From outside Captain’s Quiz headquarters, I now declare the 7th Captain’s Quiz officially closed.
See you next time.
I’m taking this as a win, because it was much improved on last time!

WOOOOHOOOO!!! Finally 💃🏻💃🏻 Thanks as always, Paul! ‘Twas a blast. Also, fun fact: for the rollercoaster question, my fiancé shook/pulled/pushed/lifted my laptop while I was typing to get the full effect 🤣

Haha, that’s amazing!
Congratulations!!!

You did it!! Haha I like that you actually simulated a rollercoaster. Yours was the second last quiz I marked and I thought there was no way anyone would beat Aaron’s score. But then I read your answers to the bonus questions and they put you over the top. Enjoy the win!

Haha…I asked Dan how I should do it, and he just started shaking my laptop, so I was like here we go! And thanks! So excited to finally come out on top 💃💃

2nd place! That’s my best performance yet.
However… Not that I want to have points taken away, but I feel that it’s only fair to point out that you did give me the extra 2 points on question 10 when I don’t think I should have been given those points. If it’s plus 2 for not being related and my partner was my mother, we’re definitely related. If my calculations are correct, that won’t necessarily affect my place on the podium. But I do want to make sure everything is on the up and up.

AH! My worst nightmare. Sorry about that! Didn’t mean to turn this into Maury. It looks like I gave you 2 bonus points, but I didn’t actually add them to your total for that question. I guess only half my mind wanted chaos. But when I added up your Bonus Points, that’s where the 2 points went so I just deducted 2 from there. Your overall total stays the same. Very good showing this time!

It doesn’t look like it will make a difference, but you awarded Aaron the +2 for the question pertaining to the last person he texted who was his mother which unless you know something I do not, would mean they are in face related. Not trying to take your job or anything…
Congrats Renata! How exciting. I thought your rollercoaster message was brilliant. And Aaron’s restaurant review was outstanding. Great round all around!

Ahh thank you for pointing that out! I kept confusing myself with the bonus points for that question. Somehow, while I gave him 2 bonus points, I didn’t actually add it to his total for the question. So his total is correct, but I’ve deducted 2 points from his bonus points score. Thanks for spotting this!

It cannot be libel (and since it’s written, it would be libel) if it’s true!
But hey, I can see the light of day again, so that’s an improvement!

My comment seemed to disappear….along with my crown. This was a tough one. I was particularly disappointed that Curtis’ BBQ under performed. I so wanted that place to magically show up in Shanghai as my reality. Arrrrrrrrgggggggggg (frustration expressed on a rollercoaster).
But all in all this was another really fun time with tough competition. Been a blast to play along with you all and Thanks Paul for the games.

That’s what happens when you can’t defend your crown, your comments go missing. (That’s not true). You put up a good fight and still seem to be in quiz mode as evidenced by your Arrrrrgggggggg!
You’ll be back on top one day!

I am still shocked that people think that anyone other than me is getting the actual crown LOL not until they are able to beat my 2 consecutive wins! (so that means 3 consecutive just to be clear).
Congratulations to Renata!! Well done!
I’m so surprised that I actually did so well on this one.
