NFL Snapshots: Week 2 (2022)

It was a wacky Week 2 in the National Football League. We had blown leads, we had blowouts, and we even had a shutout…by the Jaguars. This league is the vending machine that keeps on giving.

Here are my Week 2 snapshots:

Arizona Cardinals (1-1)
Kyler Murray was born for 4th down conversions.

Atlanta Falcons (0-2)
Kyle Pitts has 2 receptions for 19 yards, in each of the first two games.

Buffalo Bills (2-0)
The Bills are the best team in the NFL, as well as the most exciting.

Baltimore Ravens (1-1)
When you’re ahead by 21 points going into the 4th quarter, you should win. The Ravens did not.

Carolina Panthers (0-2)
The Panthers have lost both of their games by a combined 5 points.

Cincinatti Bengals (0-2)
On the bright side, everyone else in the division is 1-1 and they face the Jets in Week 3.

Cleveland Browns (1-1)
They are banning a fan for allegedly throwing a bottle at the owner.

Chicago Bears (1-1)
So, are they not going to let Justin Fields throw the ball this season?

Dallas Cowboys (1-1)
Who had Cooper Rush leading the Cowboys to a Week 2 victory over the defending AFC Champions on their Bingo card heading into this season?

Denver Broncos (1-1)
Half of Russell Wilson’s competitions were to Courtland Sutton.

Detroit Lions (1-1)
The Lions are one of three teams to have scored over 70 points after two games. The Bills and Chiefs are the others.

Green Bay Packers (1-1)
Aaron Jones is very good at football.

Houston Texans (0-1-1)
The Texans were leading 9-6 after three quarters on the road in Denver. They lost, 16-9.

Indianapolis Colts (0-1-1)
First they tie the Texans. Then they get shutout by the Jaguars. And now they get the Chiefs in Week 3.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1)
I’m interested in seeing how they fare against the Chargers this week.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)
The Chiefs need to take care of business this week against the Colts, as their next four opponents are the Buccaneers, Raiders, Bills, and 49ers.

Las Vegas Raiders (0-2)
Davante Adams went from 141 yards in Week 1, to just 12 yards in Week 2.

Los Angeles Chargers (1-1)
Justin Herbert has fractured rib cartilage and is day-to-day. They need him to be healthy; if that means sitting him out this week, I’d do it.

Los Angeles Rams (1-1)
Should we be concerned that the Rams only beat the Falcons by 4 points, despite having a 28-3 lead at one point? I am mildly concerned.

Miami Dolphins (2-0)
The Dolphins were on the road, trailing 35-14 heading into the 4th quarter, and won the game. They needed this statement win. Tua needed this performance.

Minnesota Vikings (1-1)
Uhh…what was that on Monday night?

New England Patriots (1-1)
I didn’t expect the Patriots to go into Pittsburgh and win, but they did. If they want to be the pesky, “bee in the bonnet” team this year and just shock opponents, I’m good with that. They have the Ravens and Packers up next. I bet they sneak out a win in one of them.

New Orleans Saints (1-1)
Jameis Winston played with four fractures in his back. There is no risk of further damage, BUT STILL.

New York Giants (2-0)
Don’t look now, but with the Cowboys and Giants up next, the Giants may go 4-0.

New York Jets (1-1)
You go, Joe Flacco.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-0)
They were clicking on all cylinders on Monday night. I found myself wondering, “Is this team going to the Super Bowl?”

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1)
Fans already want Kenny Pickett.

San Francisco 49ers (1-1)
Trey Lance suffered a season-ending ankle injury, which means Jimmy Garoppolo is once again the starting quarterback.

Seattle Seahawks (1-1)
The Seahawks are who we thought they were.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)
Tom Brady hasn’t played like Tom Brady yet, and the Buccaneers are 2-0.

Tennessee Titans (0-2)
It’s going to be a long year in Tennessee, isn’t it?

Washington Commanders (1-1)
Fast-forward to Week 14: there is a graphic on TV of the NFC playoff race and the Commanders are listed under the “In The Hunt” section along with four other teams.

What stood out to you in Week 2? How is your team doing?

As a long suffering Dolphins fan who still has his doubts about Tua (Yes, even after that performance in Baltimore) I was so excited for him and the team. Alas, the Bills are another beast entirely.

  2. Well, I don’t think the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl just yet. I’m trying like crazy to get fans here to pump the brakes on all this. We barely beat the Lions, who are better for sure, but they’re the Lions. One game at a time…one game at a time.🦅

I can only imagine how crazy the hype train has gotten there after the win against the Vikings. I was blown away by their performance. The Vikings weren’t able to do anything.

That being said, early season over-confidence can lead to vulnerability and losses to teams they should beat.

  3. I grew up in Michigan so I’ve always been a lions fan, but might be time to switch to the giants haha
