Share Your Blog 2019

It’s 2019, let’s cut to the chase.

We all want more blog followers. We all want to interact with new people and grow our community because bloggers are fun, we understand each other, and this written world we’ve created is a great escape from whatever is going on out there.

*Points to oblivion*

But let’s be honest, it’s hard finding new blogs we like. It’s hard making connections with bloggers who don’t leave comments because you don’t know what they’re thinking, or how their ad-lib conversational voice sounds.

Are they a, haha-er? Do they say, Lol? Do they use way more exclamation marks than they normally would, as to not sound blunt? We may never know!

So let’s stop tip-toeing around the pumpkin patch, put on our adult Pampers, and just get this all out there in the open.

No more excuses. No more sitting on the sidelines and refusing to participate. I’m only handing out post-game orange slices to those who participate.

If you want to meet new bloggers, introduce yourself in the comments section below and leave a link to your blog. It could be a link to your homepage, or a link to your favourite post.

If I were leaving a comment, I would say something like this:

“Hi! I’m Paul! Pardon the exclamation marks, I’m just trying to look non-threatening. I don’t know what my blog is about, but what I do know is that upon reading the words I write, you may be tempted to do one of the following: laugh, smile, crave pizza, shake your head, yell at me in all caps, or wonder where the heck I came from.”

You can say whatever you want, but put your best foot forward. Then take your best foot out. Then put it back in and shake it all about.

Hokey pokey.

Anyway, this “Share Your Blog” thing isn’t an original idea. I used to see posts like this on WordPress all the time a few years ago, but haven’t lately. I find they’re more prominent on Twitter these days, but I feel like those threads only attract the same genre. I could be wrong.

My unrealistic goal for this post is to have 100+ bloggers introduce themselves and leave links, so we can all click on each one and discover a blog we didn’t know was there.

If anyone wants to put a link at the bottom of their next blog post, to lead your followers to the comments section of this post, that would be great.

Or even start your own “Share Your Blog” post and bring a crowd to your comments section. Whatever gets the new interactions ball rolling.

I don’t care if you already follow me, or if you came across this post in your Reader, leave a comment. Say hello. Click on the other links. Say hello to them. Follow their blog.

We need to stop being shy and just leave a reply on an unsuspecting person’s comment.

You all know how exciting it is to receive a notification, especially from someone new. So, do it!

One last time:

1. Introduce yourself in the comments section
2. Say something about yourself/your blog
3. Leave a link to your blog
4. Interact with the other bloggers who comment
5. Alert the media (optional)

Please don’t let me down. It’s only January 2. There’s a 90-day window at the start of every year where you can’t let anyone down. It’s a rule, look it up.

Everyone understand? Cool.

Let’s do it.

Thank you!

    Hiya Paul
Happy New Year to you. You and I connected a while ago when I first started my blog back in the summer of 2017. You gave me some sound advice then and I want to thank you for your encouragement and support now, in persuading me (and others) to dip my toes in to the waters of introduction.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Laura Ashurst. I’m 51 years young and live in North Yorkshire in England. My blog is at http://www.lauraashurst.com. (Via WordPress). I blog about a range of stuff: thoughts on things etc! I’m a 17 year breast cancer lady, the last 11 of those, as a secondary breast cancer lady (i.e. where the cancer has spread to other organs and is no longer curable). I am currently stable.

I look forward to connecting with new people.
    Happy 2019 everybody!

      Hi Laura!
I’m Lauren, haha. I think you are an amazing lady! I take care of my grandmother who just finished her third round with breast cancer. I know you have to be remarkable to have the energy to blog and post. I look forward to learning more about you and if you ever need someone to talk, even if it’s just to vent, please let me know!

    Hello and Happy New Year!

My name is Barron Fujimoto, I live in Texas, USA, and previously from California and Japan. My blog is http://www.10nineteen.com where I document my daily life, with a daily photo as well. I like photography, ukulele, sketching, traveling, and eating. So those topics tend to be what I write about most.

    I hope everyone has a prosperous 2019!

Hi Paul, and Happy New Year!

My name is Ian, I blog as “Botanist” which happens to be an anagram of my full name. I am a public servant by day and a sci-fi writer by night, and an expat Brit now moved to beautiful British Columbia.

My main blog is at https://thebaldpatch.blogspot.com/

Posts there are kinda random. Some about life in general out here on Vancouver Island, but mostly about writing in some way or another. Sharing small snippets of writing, and posts about the writing process. I try to steer clear of giving writing advice (‘cos who am I to give advice?) but do give tips for people to try, if I think I have a perspective that hasn’t been done to death on a thousand blogs already. These days I home in a lot on aspects of worldbuilding in sci-fi.

Definitely looking to connect with new people. I’ve been blogging since 2009 but most of the bloggers I knew years ago have moved on, or only post occasionally. I know there’s still life out there in the blogosphere, I just need to find it 🙂

Janette, just followed you. I’m obsessed with books. Even the ones I don’t have the time to read! But I’m obsessed with the thought of finishing them all and it’s always a GOAL! My greatest issue is that I go from Jane Austin and Charles Dickens mode, to Self published poets mode and then to Amy Schumer and Tina Fey mode and then to inspirational mode and then back to vintage reading mode and it’s a disaster LOL. Save me! I hope to learn a few things and get inspired by your blog!

    Hello Paul,
Here’s to not letting you down in the first 90 days of the New Year! My all your disappointments be after the 90 days are over, lol. I am an aspiring contemporary romance writer and college senior. Go Mavs! (says the girl with zero school spirit). Blogging and Tweeting are new to me, even though I’m 28 years old I was always the girl that didn’t need 5 different ways to express myself to the world. Now I’m hard at work catching up on all the hashtags and trending that I missed before but I’ve made real connections to some of my readers and tried to return the support. My blog is https://lrrutherford.blog/blog/ and I post about my writing, I review other authors, and talk about trends and goals in the writing community that I like and dislike. I hope to meet some more cool people on here because I think this idea is genius!

    Thank you! – L. R. Rutherford

  7. Hi Paul! Happy New Year!

My name is Hayley and I’m the blogger behind http://www.lifeofhayley.com 🙂 I like my little corner of the internet to be a place where I can be open and honest about how I’m feeling and what’s going on in my life. I post about my struggles with chronic migraine along with book reviews, travel updates, and tips and tricks for surviving after graduating from college. My husband works for an airline so we have the opportunity to travel quite a bit and I studied abroad in college so now I have friends all over the world to visit. I’ve been blogging for five years now and my favorite part interacting with this amazing community of bloggers.

Thanks so much for hosting! I’m looking forward to connecting with everyone in the comments.

  10. Hello everyone,

My name is Kaitlin and I am 25 years old. I enjoy long walks on the beach, star gazing, and food. Oh, wait … is this not a dating site?? My bad. haha, jk. But in all honesty I do love food. A little too much. I have a blog that I update every week. It’s kind of like everything but the kitchen sink ice cream. It has religious content, my day to day life “adventures” and random topics that come to mind. I just started weight watchers as well, so occasionally I will post about that.

I just posted something the other day actually that involved me having to pee in traffic, a police chase, and some unfortunate events in a Chinese restaurant. So, feel free to check out my blog at http://walking-through-life.com and I promise you’ll either smile, laugh, cry or burn your computer.

Either way, I promise some sort of reaction to my blog posts 😜

  11. Paul, thank you for inviting, moi, your identical twin brother from America—except for the schnoz, mom and dad always did like you better—to share my absurd, farcical, and ridiculous south of the border blog with your adoring fans. Now, I admit that my blog, https://inmyclutteredattic.wordpress.com/about/ sports a tagline that says…
YOU MUST HAVE USED YOUR GPS—BECAUSE YOU’VE JUST LOCATED THE WACKIEST MOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND BLOG ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET. WELCOME TO… ‘THE ATTIC!” but that’s only because it’s true. So this way of finding my blog may prove to better than a Canadian roadmap to my place. Yes, my blog might be an example of what could happen to one of America’s brightest brains (given our current situation down here) when in these times it decides to put fingers to keys. But, I assure you, it would have happened even if I’d put pen to paper. So, what else can I say but…I DID AS YOU INSTRUCTED DEAR TWIN BROTHER, AND I ALERTED THE MEDIA. For some reason, they never responded. I wonder why? Oh well. 😀

My blog is http://www.twirlingintherainsite.wordpress.com. I talk about a bunch of different random stuff. Usually it’s my thoughts for the day, a new story I’ve been working on, or a recipe, although I haven’t posted a recipe in a while.

  30. Hi, I love finding new blogs to read, so this is a great idea. I already started following that replied. Oh! And I made it within your 90 day deadline. Yay.

My blog started out anonymously on Tumblr, and they were my confused, entertaining, sometimes angry thoughts as a teacher. Then I started realizing my blog was read by mainly young people, and I decided not to crush their dreams.

It has morphed into teaching tips for teachers, but I know a lot of parents read it too. http://judiholst.com/

I am a middle school teacher, and let’s be honest, you just had horrifying flashbacks from being that age. It is my favorite age to teach, however.

I call myself TBDTeacher, and on my blog, you can find out what the TBD stands for. A hint: part of it could stand for, “Teaching Buttheads Daily.”
