Put it in a Book

words can be hard to find
when they hide themselves
in the back of our mind
we’re blind
it’s clear
so bring ’em near
this is fear
it’s here
and it’s only just
begun

Where I sat, was where I stood
but the ground, it moved without me
my feet only went with, so they wouldn’t be without
it was lonely, it was familiar, it was different

the things you miss
are the things
you find
when you finally
get out of your mind
but why
open an eye
oh, hi

Hello, we meet again
I sat on the edge for one, maybe two
looking for the third and fourth, oh boo hoo
hello, how are you

flip it
rip it
clip it
put it in a book
and one day
relive it

Let me hear from you now
a pen for you, a pen for me, and a piece of paper from a tree
let the words overlap and watch them carry us
if we ever reach the bottom, at least we can look up

sand or snow
water or ice
it was always
nice

There is a home in me now, we opened the windows to share the sound
our shoes remained at the front door, I’m sure
a reminder that our feet would find them again, someday
I felt the ground move, but it moved without me

hello?
goodbye

There might be tears and that is fine
your story will always be written with mine
hands in the sand, hearts in the water
floating away, but always a room for you to stay.

I’m getting tired of saying “best one yet.” This is perfect. Talking about words, each word is in it’s perfect place. Are you sure you don’t want to perform these as raps?
