Piece Of My Heart

Forget what I said, forget what you’re told
Tonight is the night, we’re going to grow old
Don’t look at the wound, time will never heal it
See me in the next life, I swear to still feel it

So don’t count the nights I cried, the Lord knows I tried
And don’t count the days, the sun never stays
Hop borders, walk corridors
Find a piece of my heart

If you ask me what I liked, I’ll tell you just fine
See that empty street out there, it used to be mine
It’s where we laughed and it’s where we played
It’s where our promises were kept and our memories were betrayed

So don’t count the nights I cried, the Lord knows I tried
And don’t count the days, the sun never stays
Hop borders, walk corridors
Find a piece of my heart

I hope you find a place like that
And I hope I find the space where we sat

But I hope you find a voice just as kind
And I hope I find a way to rewind

But I hope you find the piece that got away
And I hope I find a way to make us stay

But I hope you all find the laughs we had
And I hope I find they never went bad

No, they never went bad

So don’t count the nights I cried, the Lord knows I tried
And don’t count the days, the sun never stays
Hop borders, walk corridors
Find a piece of my heart

Are we holding on or letting go
The back of my mind may never know
Are we holding on or letting go
The back of my mind may never know
Are holding on or letting go
The back of my mind may never know

So we sing it real slow

Don’t count the nights I cried, the Lord knows I tried
And don’t count the days, the sun never stays
Hop borders, walk corridors
Find a piece of my heart

Just find a piece of my heart
Will you believe me when I say
No I don’t want to
I swear I don’t want to
No I don’t want to
Will you believe me when I say

I don’t want to
hop borders, walk corridors
just to find a piece of my heart

No, I don’t want to do it anymore
But I don’t know what else to do.
