The Yesterday Of Yesterday

The morning always arrives too soon
for the ones stuck in their dreams
and lost in the yesterday of yesterday
because today is too much to stomach
even though they’ve done it before
they’ve felt the weight of their covers fluctuate
from soft to heavy
and warm to cold
all in the blink of an eye
and there’s nothing you can do
except sit on the top step and look down
at the passing images that exist in your mind
of what used to be and what never will be again
that is the makeup of today
and you already know
it will probably be reapplied tomorrow.

About Paul

This is the part where I'm supposed to write something interesting about myself and you'll read it and think, "That's not that interesting." So let's not do that and just think about pizza instead, on the count of three. One, two, three. Donuts. Now, wasn't that interesting?
