I am a poet
Bet you didn’t know it
Now I gotta show it
Better not blow it.

This sounds like a rap, or is it just me?

The sky is dark
Not even a park
Or a guy named Mark
Can tell where they heard a bark.

Oh, I’m rollin’ now.

Writing my blog
Without a dog
Wondering if there’s a clog
Or just a bog.

Please, hold your applause.

Time to write more words
To appease the herds
Can’t let down the nerds
They’ll steal Bo Peep’s curds.

Don’t mess with the Peep.

Food is good
Food is great
I can’t remember
What I ate.

Pizza.

People are kind
People are caring
Better not embarrass yourself
They’re always staring.

Nosy parkers.

Are you looking for a theme
Or is this a dream
I don’t like whipped cream
Don’t hit me with a metal beam.

Please, don’t.

I’m putting words together that rhyme
But not all the time
That would be a crime
And I don’t want to do any time.

Stay in school, kids.

The lines are getting longer
My mind is getting stronger
I’m re-rhyming the word longer
With the word stronger.

Pulled a Houdini on that last verse, eh?

My room is very hot
I wish I had a robot
Who would sleep on a cot
And cook pasta in a stainless steel pot.

Seriously though.

I’ve proven I am a poet
Now you know it
Because I just showed it
And didn’t blow it.
